Trek day 2

We woke early to get our bags ready for the porters and have breakfast. There are 5 porters and 4 guides on our trek. We don't see the porters often but have lots of interaction with our guides. Ishwar is the lead guide but was often in the back. Ham was always in the lead. Hari (also helped with cooking) and Punam (our female guide) moved through the line as needed. They are very friendly, positive and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area.

Today we trekked thousands of steps down a valley, across the river and then up to Landruk where we had lunch. We had vegetable soup with rice. The vegetable were grown right there and again, it was delicious and refreshing.

After lunch we made our way to Tolka trekking on the dirt road and leaving the steps behind for the day. We arrived at the Namaste Tea House mid afternoon. The rest of the day was filled with card playing, volleyball, reading, talking, looking at the view and relaxing.
